A plaque dedicating the donation of the Round Barn to the Arcada Historical and Preservation Society...The Round Barn in Arcadia Oklahoma was built by William Oder in 1998 and served as a home for cattle. The barn is 60' in diameter and 45' tall. The barn's second story was also used as a place for dances for the locals. The barn has become one of the best known Route 66 landmarks in the country and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. In 1998 the barns roof collapsed and Knowing it would be no small feat, Luther "Luke" Robison (a retired building contractor) had long admired the Round Barn and decided that he would save it from utter ruin. He and the Over the Hill Gang, (a group of retirees) volunteered their time, money and skill to the task. The barn is now completely restored and open to the public.
