Rhyolite Ghost Town

Rhyolite is a ghost town in Nye County, in the U.S. state of Nevada. It is located in the Bullfrog Hills, about 120 miles (190 km) northwest of Las Vegas, near the eastern edge of Death Valley.

Rhyolite had a short life beginning in 1905 and growing to a population of around 5,000 people in 1908, dropping to near 0 by 1920.

The Goldwell Open Air Museum lies on private property just south of the ghost town, which is on property overseen by the Bureau of Land Management.
